Regent Street, London

Situated in the heart of London's West End, Regent Street is one of the capital's most famous thoroughfares. Home to more than 75 international flagship stores; Regent Street was described by Visit London dot com as London’s ultimate shopping and lifestyle destination.

This was another pic shared by Malaysian friend 陈雪玲 Shirlyn Tan who lives and works in London. Photographed by her when the street was dressed up for Christmas. I remember walking from here to Piccadilly Circus and loving the longish old curved buildings.

Oxford Street London

London attracts Malaysians for Christmas shopping just like how Singapore and Orchard Road draw Malaysian shoppers. The number of Malaysians one can bump into in London is legendary and a running joke among the well heeled. The historical ties of the former Commonwealth colony lives on.

I am proud to have London pics supplied by a fellow Malaysian working in London. Pictures of Regent Street and Oxford Street during Christmas festive shopping captured by Malaysian friend Shrlyn Tan. One can see some traces of the the famous Oxford Street fake snow in the air in this pic.

The Shadow Of Your Smile

The Shadow Of Your Smile

On that sunny day, I thought I saw the shadow of a giant Christmas tree appearing on the wall of the Selangor Dredging building. It was the shadow of one of the adjacent Twin Towers. The smiling sun put up her own Christmas decor, albeit for a brief moment.

A Personal Greeting

A Personal Greeting

In an age of impersonal recycling of gifs and video messages.

Think of this as a handmade, homemade or hand-crafted or personalised card from me that included my photography and design...

My friend Teh Lian Chye has a theory:

"During the days of yore, when greeting cards took days, and go through multiple processes to arrive at their destinations, that by the time the cards arrived it's already new year.

Therefore we used to greet people with 'Merry Christmas & Happy New Year'. We saved time and effort - two holidays in one sentence. Done"

Kampung Hakka Mantin - Part 5

Methodist Church Mantin

This time, a Methodist church, also on the main road. Photography Tip: Since the floor is not level, I turned on framing guidelines under settings. It allowed me to keep the verticals and horizontals aligned. This saved much time that may be required to fix crooked framing later.

Asus Zenfone 3, ISO 50, f2 , 1/1100 sec.

Seeing Stars During Nightfall At Santa Factory

Seeing Stars During Nightfall At Santa Factory

At the tail end of the evening, one can see the sky getting darker. For better contrasting colours, start capturing earlier. See previous pics for comparison. The advantage of a darker sky is the possibility of seeing stars. As with any small sensor camera, don't let the ISO ride too high or noise will start to creep in.
