Chuck Norris And The Dog

Chuck Norris And The Dog

Burly temple president and community leader, Gurcharan Singh, was like Chuck Norris to me. Dogs walk away and children quiet down when he stares. The last temple priest ran away. He came to sit with me and chat when I ate.

We talked about the temple's century old history,

The Secret Handshake

The Secret Handshake.

I saw a beautiful Sikh temple in Tampin town. Decided to photograph it up close and was confronted by one of the toughest strangers to engage with. Mr Gurdev Singh, the 85-year-old temple caretaker was wary and distrustful initially. He was, after all, a retired Special Branch police officer.

An Awww Moment

Three Little Dogs.

Stumbled upon an 'awww' moment.

Three homeless puppies watching a stray cat eat. Living on the streets, the trio would have learned early life lessons that cats scratch.

I shouted: Guys! Stop hoping. Cats don't share.

Cat turned around and gave me a look that says: "Yeah. Get them off my back. I'm trying to eat here."

Photographed at Kuala Pilah market one morning.

Finding Warmth On A Cold Floor

Wesak: Finding Warmth On A Cold Floor

Who can resist a cool marble floor on a hot day? A homeless dog seeks shelter under the watchful eyes of the statue of Buddha at an obscure and quaint Thai temple named Wat Meh Liew in little-known Kampung Siam in Kuala Lumpur.

I was sitting on the floor on Wesak Day last year when the dog came to lie in front of me. A wonderful moment for the camera. It also brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart.

The temple's tolerance and acceptance of stray animals symbolizes the heart of Buddha's teachings - Compassion.

Happy Vesak Day ahead.

Beaches For Your Sunset Pics - Part 3.

Port Dickson or PD shall be our third featured beach and the furthest, comparatively. I was there to attend the Rainforest Challenge 4WD competition.

Sometimes you need to rope in a complete stranger to complement the scene. I was lucky to meet friendly Kay Kay Wong and her cooperative dog on the beach. I explained to Kay Kay and she understood what I wanted to achieve immediately,

The Junkyard Dog Sleeps Tonight

The Junkyard Dog Sleeps Tonight

Scrap collectors hauled in a discarded mattress or two. The faithful junkyard dog finds a comfy spot different from the usual rusted metal, cardboard and other junk.

Saw this dog during my exploration of Hulu Bernam area recently. The junkyard dog is a popular movie trope often used to set up a scene with impending sinister activity or hostility.

For all its movie reputation of aggressiveness and alertness, it possesses a less-recognised attribute in real-life. Unconditional loyalty to owners who provide scant creature comforts.

Graveyard's Tray Dog.

The Pirate And Cupcakes. Lonely As A Cemetery Dog.

It was both heartbreaking and heartening to see this eye patched dog that turned around to smile at me when I called out in 2016. I am guessing she was probably abandoned here as a puppy.

The dog must have grew up very lonely in the normally deserted and vast graveyard where she ruled. Heartening because, once a year, there is an abundance of food for her to scavenge. Visitors leave behind prayer food such as Chinese cupcakes.

People Were Shit Poor

Mutt Rempit In Sekinchan

When my friend Jacy Ong posted a meme that said "You Never Appreciate What You Have Till It's Gone" - "Toilet Paper Is A Good Example" I posted a reply suggesting she rub her butt against the wall tiles. Or get a hungry dog to lick her ass clean. Jacy took it quite well and said she believed those were the days.

The rubbing part may explain why we always see brownish stains on our public toilet walls. Haha. Water is not always available. May be gross, but the dog part may not be as facetious or ludicrous as you might think.

The Day I Met Mutt Rempit

Me And You And A Dog Named Boo (Mutt Rempit).

Went to Sekinchan today to test Sony's new HDR Sky Camera App. At the paddy fields, I met a farmer raking his field, accompanied by his pet dog.

Asked him where he stays and he told me it is quite far. Naturally, I asked how the dog travels. He showed me.

The dog balances himself quite well on the back of the motorcycle, even when going around corners. Occasionally, the un-neutered dog jumps off when he sees a female.

Quite an amazing sight and Winter Solstice must be my lucky day.
